Public Service Announcement: National Emergency Grant Pays for IT Interns to Work for Chicago Companies

MicroTrain, through the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, has been awarded a National Emergency Grants (NEG) to administer a program to help unemployed Chicagoans with IT backgrounds get back to work.  The program combines certification training and a paid internship, and consists of an 8 week training period, followed by 8 weeks of paid work experience where clients earn a work stipend and work at a company in an IT Helpdesk/Servicedesk type role.

WE NEED YOU!

MicroTrain needs your help to identify available internship opportunities at companies around Chicago. The 8 week internships are reserved for organizations in the Chicagoland area with open entry and mid level IT positions and is completely free to employers. Employers are not required to hire interns after the internship period, though consideration for appropriate positions following the internship is encouraged.
